Lakeland Terrier Puppies Buying Advice

Lakeland Terrier Puppies Buying Advice

Why Lakeland Terriers are great

Lakeland terrier puppies (Lakies) make great companions. These affectionate and friendly, self-confident dogs are a delight to be around. Bred initially for hunting foxes that were killing sheep, these Terriers are short, sturdy, with a slim body and a long face. Lakies (as nicknamed) have a hard, thick, resilient coat which can take the coldest of winters, shed water and hardly moult.

They need to exercise daily but can live in flats and apartments happily enough.

The Lakeland terrier gets on excellently with different dogs and people. They are brilliantly intelligent, quick learners and should be challenged often by learning new tricks and given tasks to do. It is also great to rotate their toys so that they don't get bored. Lakelands also make excellent guard dogs. They like to bark (a lot) and are highly territorial. Although, their bark is more significant than their bite, as they say.
